BEAUTY IN NOISE

The premise of this series, as the title indicates, is that noise is full of wonder and beauty if you just look and listen to it in the right way. This is not to deny the ugliness, stress, and damage that often go hand-in-hand with noise, but here I lay that usual perspective aside to seek out the good in noise. Sometimes this is by way of utilising noise as a metaphor, sometimes it involves looking at some of the useful applications of noise, and sometimes this is just a place for my musings that don’t fit comfortably in any of the other article series! These articles simply reflect a part of my overall point of view that underpins my specific love and participation in noise music. I’ve divided them into categories below to help you zoom in on what is of most interest to you (some articles are thereby repeated as they fit into a couple of these categories).
